FS X40 Z CNC

Highly automated precision surface and profile grinding machine with CNC control and an integrated CAD/CAM module. All guideways are designed as ground and hand-scraped V-shaped flat ways. As a universal standard model, this machine is equipped with a grinding wheel measuring 300 x 50 x 76.2 mm and is designed for the automated profile machining of medium-sized workpieces and complex fixture components.

    Hardware

    Sturdy Base Structure: The machine bed, featuring a proven cast-iron design, incorporates an elaborate ribbed structure—for maximum rigidity and optimal damping properties.

    Precision guideways: All linear guideways are designed as V-shaped flat ways. The ground and hand-scraped cast iron surface, combined with a TURCITE-B® coating, ensures excellent damping.

    Toothed belt drive on the longitudinal axis (X): The table drive enables exceptionally smooth motion and continuously variable speeds of up to 35,000 mm/min. The system is thermally stable, highly energy-efficient, and features an extremely low-maintenance design.

    Optional ball screw on the longitudinal axis (X): Maximum positioning accuracy even on the table axis. Axis interpolation possible.

    Ball Screws & Glass Rulers (Y/Z): The transverse and vertical axes are equipped as standard with high-precision ball screws and linear glass rulers for direct position feedback—ensuring maximum positioning accuracy.

    Automatic central lubrication: A fully automatic circulating lubrication system continuously supplies the guideways and moving elements of all axes with lubricating oil, ensuring low-maintenance operation.

    Safe Full-Enclosure Design: Protects operators and the environment and ensures the highest air quality in the workshop. Since the standard enclosed design allows for the safe use of maximum machining parameters, you benefit directly from faster processes.

    Flexible satellite handwheel: During setup, all axes can be moved with precision using an electric handwheel (selectable increment sizes: 1 µm, 10 µm, or 100 µm).

    Software

    Proprietary G+H software: The intuitive, graphically supported user interface ensures that the machine’s control system is fully future-proof. Data entry is convenient, performed directly through a dialog, and requires absolutely no programming or knowledge of DIN code. Each parameter is clearly described using abbreviations, plain-text help lines, and graphics.

    Integrated CAD/CAM system: Enables graphically supported profile creation directly at the control panel. Complex grinding wheel contours can be conveniently defined and calculated using the integrated CAD program.

    Intelligent process automation: Allows for the flexible sequencing of complex machining and dressing cycles to automate demanding grinding tasks without manual intervention.

    Reliable collision monitoring: Provides software-based dry-run and collision simulation of the entire grinding and dressing process before the actual machining begins.

    Profile Dressing & Compensation: Ensures automatically controlled dressing and profiling of the grinding wheel with precise, three-dimensional compensation of the tool data.
