FS X70 GT SD

Precision surface grinder with a computer-programmable SD control system designed for high table loads. The linear guides are designed as ground and hand-scraped V-shaped flat ways. As a robust, large-scale machine, this model series is designed with a grinding wheel measuring 400 x 100 x 127 mm for machining heavy, large-format plates and a wide range of components in tool and mold making.

    Hardware

    Sturdy Base Structure: The machine bed, featuring a proven cast-iron design, incorporates an elaborate ribbed structure—for maximum rigidity and optimal damping properties.

    Precision guideways: All linear guides are designed as V-shaped flat slideways. The ground and hand-scraped cast iron surface, combined with a TURCITE-B® coating, ensures excellent damping.

    Ball screw drive on the longitudinal axis (X): This drive ensures absolutely backlash-free, powerful feed movements and constant speeds of up to 35,000 mm/min, even under high table loads. Compared to a hydraulically driven machine, this system is thermally stable, highly energy-efficient, and requires virtually no maintenance.

    Ball Screws & Glass Rulers (optional) (Y/Z): The transverse and vertical axes are equipped as standard with high-precision ball screws and, optionally, with linear glass rulers for direct position feedback—ensuring maximum positioning accuracy.

    Automatic Central Lubrication: A fully automatic recirculating lubrication system continuously supplies the guideways and moving elements of all axes with lubricating oil, ensuring low-maintenance operation.

    Secure Full-Enclosure Design: Protects operators and the environment and ensures the highest air quality in the workshop. Since the standard enclosed design allows for the safe use of maximum machining parameters, you benefit directly from faster processes.

    Flexible satellite handwheel (optional): During setup, all axes can be moved with high precision using an electric handwheel (selectable increment sizes: 1 µm, 10 µm, or 100 µm).

    Software

    Proprietary G+H software: This custom-designed control solution combines state-of-the-art computer programming with a dialog-driven data entry system for noticeably shorter setup times. The machine can be operated in a completely intuitive manner via the ergonomic control panel with a flat-screen display.

    Flexible teach-in procedure: Geometric data can be entered either using traditional numerical input or transferred directly to the control system via the time-saving teach-in procedure using the axis keys.

    Preprogrammed grinding cycles: Integrated standard grinding processes allow the selected cycle to run automatically with the simple push of a button. A complete overview of all integrated cycles can be found below in the technical specifications.

    Precise axis feed: The feed axis operates either fully automatically or manually via the sensitive electric handwheel.

    Automatic Dressing Compensation: The system controls table dressing fully automatically and compensates for dressing amounts directly via the software. Additionally, two different dresser heights can be permanently stored in the system. The set Y-zero point is maintained at all times.

    Constant Peripheral Speed (V-constant): The intelligent control system automatically adjusts the spindle speed as the grinding wheel diameter decreases. This guarantees a consistently uniform grinding pattern and extends tool life.
