70 Years of “Made in Homberg (Ohm)”: Thank you for an amazing open house!

A resounding success amid midsummer temperatures: On Saturday, June 27, 2026, we opened our doors to the general public. It was a very special occasion: our company anniversary, celebrated under the theme “70 Years of ‘Made in Homberg (Ohm)’.”

Despite it being the hottest day of the year so far, numerous visitors from across the region came to take an exclusive look behind the scenes of our precision grinding machine production and experience the technology up close.

Shortly after the opening, our factory grounds began to fill up noticeably. While cool drinks and shaded areas provided much-needed relief from the heat, the program offered exciting insights for young and old alike. During guided tours of the production halls and office spaces, our guests were able to observe the complex processes up close. Our team was fully engaged, explaining the day-to-day work and patiently answering the many questions from interested visitors.

Career Opportunities, Higher Education, and Strong School Partnerships

The day focused particularly on the topics of apprenticeships, higher education, and careers at Geibel & Hotz. In addition to our in-house entry-level opportunities, educational partners provided information directly on site: Representatives from the Technical University of Central Hesse (THM) and the Institute for Machining (ISF) at TU Dortmund were on hand to provide young people and interested visitors with comprehensive information about the possibilities of a (dual) degree program in mechanical engineering. Right in our training departments, various hands-on stations also invited visitors to discover the practical aspects of these professions and get involved themselves.

A real highlight for families was the diverse hands-on program for children, which was organized entirely by the parent-teacher associations of Homberg’s schools. To ensure the fun didn’t suffer despite the extreme outdoor temperatures, we quickly moved the activities into our air-conditioned rooms. Whether it was colorful face painting, creatively designing their own buttons, or taking their first steps in robot programming—the young guests participated with great enthusiasm in the pleasantly cool environment.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all guests, partners, and volunteers for this unforgettable day!

“We are absolutely overwhelmed by the fantastic response to our open house—especially given these extreme temperatures. It was truly important to us to open our doors to the neighborhood and the region. We’re thrilled that so many people made their way here despite it being the hottest day of the year so far, and that we were able to support the schools in Homberg at the same time. A special thank you goes to our entire team, whose tremendous dedication made this successful weekend possible.”
